Match Notes:

Private Game
From Chelsea fan Garry Jones:
It was played at the training ground in Harlington. It was not an official friendly match, it was a training match that nobody was supposed to know about. One of the players phoned Terry Last or Cathy late on the Monday night. By Tuesday morning just 11 of us had managed to find out and get to the ground. Therefore the attendance was 11. This is not including the club officials but they are never counted anyway. A few hours after the match (Cathy drove Terry Last and me over the Bridge) we saw the reserve match against Arsenal in the Combination. We scribbled the team down from memory and Terry popped into the programme shop and got Keith to print an official team sheet for the training match. Terry told Keith it was a friendly. But I would say it was more of an unofficial match that was not meant to be classed as a friendly. The programme and the match description was decided a few hours after the game. It is interesting because if it is an official first team friendly it would be the lowest ever attendance at a first team official match. So you might want to update the record to 11 for the attendance. At the time I could have given you their names.
